  • I haven't posted garden shots.  And this is the best time of the year in my garden!

The rhododendron, in all it's splendor.

A couple of planters in the bed of vinca vine.

A peony, moved from Illinois, with a blue and yellow container garden.

Iris.  Sorry.  Don't know the variety.  These were the first to bloom for me.

My camera doesn't pick up on violet - it comes out blue.  How can I adjust the camera for that?

    An apricot iris.

    My entryway container.

These purple iris's have made many moves.  They started out in Big Rock, Ill, moved to Downers Grove, then to Geneseo, and now they are in Granger!  I have no idea of the variety, but I call them grape koolaid iris, since that's what they smell like.  Beth:  Do you want me to bring any to the wedding next weekend?

    Some of my many hostas.

These are a different variety of yellow iris than what I posted earlier.

    Another predominately hosta bed.

And the best new growth of all:  Kaden!

  • All that good hard work has paid off. Your gardens are beautiful, Val.

  • It doesn't look like you've only lived there a few years!!  The gardens look awesome.  How is Kaden taking the heat?  Or have you turned the "air" on?  He is such a cutie!!

  • I agree...Kaden is the best of all.

The garden didn't look that way when you moved in.  I don't remember any flowers.

  • I so enjoyed seeing your gardens.  You do such a good job.  I am going to just hope and pray my "stuff" makes it this year if we continue with the drought conditions.......once again we are praying for rain.  Have hay to bale but there is a good chance according to the weather man that we might get rain the first part of the week so don't want it down until we have some dry days......like Wil says we will take the rain anyday at this point.

I'm seriously thinking of not pinching back my mums this year.  What do you think will happen if I don't?  I don't want to lose them but there are so many and pinching isn't my strong suite.  I'm not sure I do it right anyway.

  • beautiful!  I don't have a green thumb so I just have to look at other people's gardens!!!!LOL

Yep ..Kaden is a cute little "bud"!!!!

God bless you all and have a nice holiday!((HUGS))

  • I was ALMOST going to say "what, no pictures of Kaden?"  What a cutie!  I'm enjoying my 4-week-old great niece as much as I can, so I know the joy!!  I'm a regular visitor to your mom's and I'm going to subscribe to stay up on Kaden's progress, OK?

  • I love purple Irises.  And perfect to see Kaden amongst the other flowers

  • Congratulations Val!  I am soooooo very glad at all the good news I have had to catch up on.  (and by the way I really really am going to try to spend a little more time on puter and in xanga... I promise)  The flower photographs are wonderful but you are right the best growth is Kaden.  I am smitten with the young man!   Take care and have a wonderful week ahead!

  • Beautiful flowers and gardens and beautiful little boy.   Enjoy the remainder of your weekend.

  • Beautiful job on your gardens, Val!
