I got a new camera yesterday from Amazon. It's a Casio like my old one. I love my old camera, but it has a bad chip so there is a section of some photos where there is a dark circle, always in the same location. I took it to a camera shop in Gatlinburg and they said it would cost over $100 to ship it back and have them fix it, if they even could. So for that amount (a little more, but not much) I got a new one with higher resolution (7.2 vs 5.0). Not as high as some, but probably as high as I need right now. I wanted to get it before the new grandson arrives.
So I put the new battery on the new charger and left with my kids and grandkid for Kohls. Came back to find the red charger light still flashing. I thought that was strange to take that long but didn't really think too hard about it. Later at night I put in the CD with the manual and started to read. Which is where I discovered that the charger is supposed to glow a solid red, then go out when the battery is charged. Flashing red is a bad thing. And, according the the manual, I would need to send back the battery, the charger and the camera. So I called Casio this morning and told them the problem. They are sending me a new battery and I don't need to send anything to them. Whew! So now I'm ready for Skyler to arrive.
So I took pictures of my shrub roses with each camera.
New camera.
Old camera.
Not much difference.
This shot shows the black spot that sometimes shows up in pictures. So now you know why I wanted a new camera.
This is sideways, but it shows a card I made. I've been getting into stamping cards - Michelle is currently creating all the birth announcements so all she'll have to do when Skyler arrives is fill in his birth day, weight and height. Everything else has been pre-printed.
Think that's all. Tomorrow I have to spend the day at a very boring board meeting for our state garden club district. I have to go since I'm president of one of the clubs. Yawn.

I have a great nephew named Skyler. I'd never heard the name until it was his.
Enjoyed your pictures.
Best of luck at the Board Meeting. I hope everything works out with your new camera. To answer your question yes I'll be at the wedding on Saturday. See you There.
God Bless,
Jason Martin
I got the little "Thank you" card from Michelle. I have it sitting on the coffee table in the TV room. I think there is a difference . The colors are more vivid but that may be due to taking it at a different time.
We have a friend at church named Skyler.
I agree, meetings are boring but they are part of some organizations and professions, like teacher's meetings...so awfully boring. Teachers used to bring their knitting.
Glad you got the new camera! Becky got a new one for 8th grade graduation. She loves it. The card is gorgeous, must be for the wedding you are going to this weekend. We are leaving for MI Friday morning,
A new camera is so much fun, I am sure you will be taking plenty more pictures for us to enjoy, now. http://www.Carolinesine333.webs.comy sister had been getting into the cardmaking aspect of scrapping lately... she , too, turns out some neat work... I like the pockets in your card! That is a neat idea!
I was wondering how Katie was doing with all the storms and such? Is her farm safe from flooding?
I've never heard of Skyler as a boy's name, but see that other's have. It's a nice name. When is his due date?
Have fun with your new camera. All I ever need is a basic camera as I haven't the eye or the patience for "real" photography.
I am very impressed with the cards you made. My DIL does card stamping but hasn't been involved in it for several months. The cards are so unique that I like to keep them to look at over the years.
@josaju - The pictures were taken at virtually the same time, within minutes of each other. So any difference you see is because of the camera.
@beadbrat - Katie was unaffected by the recent storms, thank the good Lord. Just like back in October, when tornados descended upon Napanee and destroyed part of the town, she was spared - good thing since she's still getting over the loss of Merlin.
@Wissh - Skyler is due on June 28. The doctor told her yesterday that she hasn't started dilating yet, but it could start anytime now.
hey i got my camera working again and got some great pics of kaden sam and me and perry's kids. all in amish land pics, you'll like it. come tomorrow and i'll show you all the pics, you'll like them
you've got to take pics of the announcement cards i made with your new camera
@sammickad - Where did you find your charger? Good thing you found it before Skyler comes!
When you come to WI, will you be scrapbooking or card-making??? Or both!!?? Don't know how you find time for everything you do! Oh, that's right---you are still young! lol Glad you got a new camera. Wouldn't want a black spot in the middle of my head when pics are taken when you get here! lol
That card looks so pretty. That must be a lot of fun.
Hope you are enjoying a good Sunday.
The big difference in the camera's would be apparent when you "blow" the pictures up to larger sizes. So you would see the new camera has a more defined, clear, and colorful print as a 8 x 10, etc. Glad you won't have to play Russian Roulette with the black dot anymore. lol.
