  • Just got back from Michigan where we attended a wedding last night.  The reception was held at the Amway Grand Hotel - la de da!  It was very lovely.

The groom is my Aunt Emily's grandson, Joe.  The bride probably stand at 5 feet tall and I'm sure doesn't weigh 3 digits.  They make for an adorable couple, as you'll be able to see from the pictures.

Sam, Michelle and Kaden couldn't make the wedding because Kaden came down with a non-streph viral infection on Friday which required a doctor visit because of the rash.  She (the dr) thought it was streph so she gave him a fast test (which involved sticking a gag stick down his throat and swabbing a sample).  Kaden said,  "Doctor.  Stick.  Throat.  Cry."  Very adamate he was too.  Even though it wasn't streph the doctor said he was still contagious, so he couldn't stay at his other grandma's house with baby Susan.  Bummer for them.

    So, pictures.

My dress.  I got it from Penney's - Michelle and I went shopping and she said I had to get it.

So I wore a shawl with it.  Not like this - I was just funnin.

They had balloons up the walkway.

The bride and groom running the gaunltlet of bubbles.  Just after this, Joe picked Rachael up and ran with her the rest of the way.  Like I said, she doesn't weigh much of anything.

In lieu of a cake, they had a candy table.  Tiramatsu was dessert, which was a bummer for those of us who hate coffee.

  • WOW...You look fabulous.(not that I'm prejudiced)  Maria hasn't changed at all.  Brooke has.  She is very attractive.  Always was.  Joe is strikingly handsome.  Emily looks  younger.  Dave look professorial.  Ruthie and Marabeth look the same and Em keeps getting younger.  Ken looks pretty much the same as he did when he was a cute little boy.  Love his new more grown-up hair cut.  (is there anyone I missed??)

  • ooops ...didn't mention Rachael. A very important person...(the Bride!)  She looks petite, sweet, diminuitive, lithe and very lucky to have snagged Joe(although he said he had to pursue her??)  Anyway, also forgot to mention Uncle Ralph who looks very kind(as he really is) and Ron who looks impressively professional and intellectual.  And..of course, Fran who is always beautiful and fresh as she was the day she was married.  Just wish we could have been there.

  • you didn't bore me i wanted to see them too.

  • You didn't bore me either. I feel like I know your whole family, how weird is that? Your dress is lovely. Your whole family is good looking! I'll bet Sarah will love seeing this blog too.

  • The bride and groom make a very good looking couple. You and Dave were no slouches either! You done your mother proud! lol Ken looks REALLY GOOD with the new look!

  • What a gorgeous dress! Youe were stunning! Sorry Michelle & family couldn't make it and hope Kaden is better. The roses & peonies were beautiful and I thought the candy table was a cute idea. My dd had a candy table as well as a cake. The candy table must be a 'new' thing? *hugs*

  • Oh you look beautiful** and what happy, happy faces...so lovely to see a wedding..* Thank you for sharing...have a wonderful day...hugs and love, Lee

  • Hey, you clean up good, girl!  lol  Love the dress.  The color is wonderful!  Ken cleaned up good, too.  He looks so different.  Dave looks good, as always.  I know how much relatives who are not able to attend enjoy the pictures.  Even though they aren't my relatives, I still enjoyed them.

  • Your dress is wonderful! And you don't look like you weigh much of anything!

  • Looks like you had a fabulous time!  The dress is gorgeous as well.

  • Beautiful dress, val! I liked the picture of you with the shawl over your head! i am glad my mom was able to make it to the wedding - sort of unexpectedly, huh? She should have been back in Ecuador now! I still have never met Rachael - hopefully when we come back for furlough. She is such a tiny little thing! Looks like everything was beautiful. Oh, and I would have LOVED to take your piece of tiramisu - my favorite dessert! (I found ladyfingers at the store when we were coming back from PNG, and one of the teachers here is on vacation in Australia and going to bring back Coffee liquer so we are going to try making some tiramisu when she gets back - YUM!!!)

  • Oh, and never mind that Nana looks great in all the other pictures you posted, I just know that she is going to comment on the last one and say "Why did you have to put THAT picture of me in there?!" You just tell me if that doesn't happen. I am sure it will =)

  • Michelle was right....the dress is beautiful.   so was the bride's gown and everyone looks great.  I wouldn't have liked the dessert either but the candy table....not too bad!!! LOL   Sure hope Kaden feels much better by now

  • What a nice dress - it looks great on you!
