  • I think I have a temporary allergy to xanga.  I was in a book club back in Illinois and one of my co-readers used to say she had a book-allergy when she'd go through periods when she didn't read.  That's about how I feel about xanga.  It makes me tired.  I'm sure I'll recover.

I saw the dr today, 4 weeks after surgery.  He said everything looks good.  The stitches are still there, but should dissolve within 2 weeks.  I can now lift Skyler, but not Kaden.  He upped my weight limit to 20 pounds.  And I can rake leaves.  Our lawn is buried under fallen leaves.  I like to rake when my favorite helpers, Barney and Kaden, are there to "help" me.   If that happens, I'll take pictures.

Michelle and her mil Katie co-hosted a stampin up party on Monday.  I helped out too, but they invited their friends.  It was held in Amishland and the only non-Amish there were Me, Michelle and the demonstrator, who experience cultural growth.  I saw her the next day at our regular monthly workshop and she kept talking about her night!

We're planning to visit my mil this weekend.  She just had a cancerous growth removed from her nose and had some pretty major reconstructive surgery involving the skin from all over her face.  Dave's cousin sent us pictures.  She kept saying she looked like Frankenstein and know we know why.  Poor thing.  They had to go in three times until all the margins were clear of cancer.  Skin cancer can be bad.

I may get around and visit, but I'm not sure I'll leave many comments.

  • I am soooo glad to see a post from you. Miss you when you "go away". Glad you are recovering nicely from the surgery.

I'm guessing your mil had MOHS surgery. Best kind for skin cancer. I had one years and years ago with no sign of anything else since. Made a big hole in my face but now the scar is really not at all visible unless you know where to look. Of course I was young then and my skin was more elastic.

Bet that gal did have culture shock! lol The Amish here are having church today for some reason and are having it at the neighbor's house. I haven't been out today to see what a crowd is there. Ella couldn't come clean this week because she had to help get ready. Kinda tough when you are the only girl child to help the mom do all the work in the house. There is an older sis but she is married and lives in KY.

  • Glad you had a good checkup with the Dr.  I check, and read but haven't written anything since the showers and I just don't want to.  I'm busy subbing etc.... It was good "talking" with you yesterday!

  • It must be hard for you at the moment recovery from the operation and now with your MIL. Take care of yourself and best wishes for your MIL

  • I totally understand the Xanga allergy...sometimes it's just too much.  Glad you're able to rake leaves, you must be on the mend, that's hard work!

  • all caught up.
I am glad you are recovering so well.
    Yay I love the pictures.
I have had a major MAJOR xanga allergy for.... forever it seems.
I have been trying to just do other things.
sitting at the comp is bad for me.

I love the photos of the babies. They are just so incredibly adorrrrrable

    and hugs and love

  • Mucho prayers for the MIL for healing and good to hear that things are healing for you too.

  • Is that what it is called?  A Xanga allergy?  Xanga takes time...to write , to read , to comment and...to post pictures.  I consider not coming here at all but do find myself wandering back..

Perhaps her days in the Florida sun.  The dermatologists down here have a thriving business and are booked months in advance.

    I'm glad that you're better.

    Love,

  • what did michelle yager say?

  • Hope your xanga allergy clears up soon-lol. I guess I have one also, but mainly because I'm pooped from work.

I went through a non-book period for about 2 years, which I now know was caused by depression. It was a bad period in my life. One would think you'd never lose a love for books, but it does happen. Tiz okay--one day you'll feel like reading again. I am still reading a book I started about a month ago. Just haven't been reading lately, but I believe it's just due to the new job hours.

    *HUGS*
