I had our second meeting of our new red hat group. We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant, then went to one of the member's homes and decorated our red hats. This is what I did to mine: I added some purple ribbon, some feather ribbon, pearls and azalea blooms. I think it looks perky. Michelle says it looks like me.
Back view.
I subbed yesterday for a science class. This was a class I've subbed for before - one of the blocks was the one that I had bribed with chocolate if they could be quite for the teacher for 15 minutes. They did, so I brought in chocolate yesterday. That was fun. The rest of the bag I left on the table in the teacher's lunch room. I'm sure it's all gone now!
What a beautiful spring day! Daffodils are out, as are some early tulips, lenten roses and hyacinths. Very lovely.
Ken is coming home tomorrow - he's staying on campus while it's empty so he can get some needed work done on his big term paper. Man. When do they grow up and become responsible like that?
No more visits to the emergency room. Yet. I know that this will be over soon, but all of us are about ready. NOW!
I hope you all enjoy this holy weekend, with services at the church of your choice. We are performing our cantata for service on Sunday - dress rehearsal is tomorrow night. Should be fantastic. Then the family comes over for Easter dinner. I have to buy the ham yet. The lamb roast is defrosting. Almost all the rest of the menu is being brought in by Aunt Em and cousin Frances. Yay! I set the table and had to add a card table to one end in order to sit 13 people, including one in a wheelchair.
I'm listening to Moody radio as I type this. I love the internet - I can listen to my favorite radio station that way, even if it doesn't quite make it on my radio! WMBI, 90.1 out of Chicago. Or www.wmbi.org.

Yep, the hat looks like you.
Wil's back is now "out" but I can flush, bathe, use the washer etc. He isn't going to fill in the hole until he can figure out how to fix the problem so this doesn't continue. Having "poop" all over the floors, tubs etc. is not conductive to a happy home....!!!!
I am still waiting to hear from daughter if they are coming for Easter dinner or not. I'm going to fix your pork loin recipe. I don't have it right infront of me but hope you put in how long to cook it.
Why in the world didn't your mom use a wheelchair and human "pusher" etc. at the airports? They are free and would surely have been a blessing to her. I suggested it to her for her next "adventure".
Wow, I really love what you did to your hat!! I love red and purple now.
Yeah those snacks in the teachers lounge dont last long.
I hope you have a lovely Easter

I thinned out (I thought) my flower bulbs last fall and replanted. Couldn't tell it now... I swear the daffodils have tripled in number!
I remember you talking about this group before Val, but I didn't know it was supposed to start over. Is it a yearly thing? In any case....your hat is beautiful!!!! It reminds me of dressing up in Mom's clothes when I was a kid. I often used her jewelry to add some spice to her hats. She also had really cool shoes from the 40's and 50's.
RYC: do you know what's required of special needs students? I guess it differs from state to state, huh? Although, our school bus endorsement requirements were adopted by all states from the Federal's blueprint. I'm thinking that the requirements for school children might be the same. I homeschooled my own kids for 3 years and loved it.
Your hat is so cute!!! I bet you are so excited waiting for the baby to come. I am happy for you.
Happy Easter!!!
Very pretty! I can't wait for the baby to arrive. I know he will be beautiful and an absolute blessing! RYC: Come on down! We would have a ball sitting on that deck. I love company.. and after awhile company feels like family to me! Hope this Easter weekend is sunny, peaceful and filled with God's many blessings for you my friend.
Love,
Debbie
Love the hat--it's definitely you! Love spring--I've got hyacinths with a heavenly smell! Love Easter--and Fannie Mae cream eggs! Have a blessed holiday!
Have a great Easter
Love the hat! I kind of miss everyone wearing hats on Easter Sunday. The church looked like a flower garden with all the hats....Especially red straw but....that was before the Red Hat thing got popular.
Beautiful hat! It'll look great on you.
Hope you all had a great easter
Hi Val! Here on a quick visit. I will be back tonight to see what's been going on and to read about the shower. Have tons of stuff to do because being away from home for 3 weeks means I have 3 weeks of housework and chores to catch up to. *sigh*
I've seen red hat paraphernalia all over. Is this society that popular? Cool!
Have a lovely day.
