The thumb seems to be a ligament/tendon kind of thing. He uses really big doctor words and they don't always compute. But, bottom line, it probably all started back in my harp playing days and now I have to get a brace. So on Monday afternoon I'll get fitted for that.
Michelle and Sam headed off to Napanee for the night - seems she wants to spend some quality time with his mom tomorrow. Ok. They took two cars in case she has to drive herself to the hospital while he's at work. All rightie then.
I'm subbing math again. Got a bunch more jobs lined up while I was there today. Teachers have to get their personal days in before they lose them.
This book is for kids, but I enjoyed it. I read it last week while I was subbing at the alternative school. Finished the book I brought with me, so found this on the shelf and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd like to read all the past yearly winners of the major childrens book awards.

You're joining the ranks of those of us who wear braces on our hands! My friend Sharon's is almost wicked looking, where even her thumb is immobile. Mine just holds my wrist at the "proper" angle. I only have to wear mine at night, so far.
Oh gosh I am hoping that a brace will aid in some sort of recovery... I wish I knew the doctor terms he used... I used to be an ortho nurse so I know alot about hands.
I hope it improves with the brace. Will you wear it all the time for just to bed??
Michelle... wow. roadtrippin. Okay. It is so good she is young and peppy. Even if we think a little reckless... remember we were pretty tireless and silly back in the day. I used to mow the lawn pregnant and various other risky things.
I am gladyou are getting some good work days in. rake in that cash
I'm sure glad those kids aren't an item anymore

With a name like Lamar, where else could he be from? *L*
The best kids' books have something in them to amuse adults, I find. Not sure whether this might have something to do with who gives out the awards!
Great book! I read it when I was ... younger.
I hope the brace helps. One of my co-workers is wearing a hard plastic brace on her thumb. She says it's helping.
I wish your thumb was getting better. Maybe the brace will help. As long as it does not get in the way of gardening, hehe.
I remember that book as being one of my favorites.
I had a similar problem a few years back (it recurs, occasionally) and the brace should help. I didn't go the doctor/Frankenstein brace route, I went to a medical supply store and bought an elastic brace (like a fingerless glove) that I wore and it helped a lot. I think it's all about keeping the thumb joint stationary so it will heal and reduce inflammation. Good luck.
xoxoxo
Do I detect a bit of snidness in this post? lol Hope the brace works. I might have to go back to the bone docs and do something for foot and hand soon. Have a good weekend.
Have a great weekend! *hugs*
RYC: WOW...mom was only 1 year older in that picture ,than you are now. I can't picture you in a style dress like that and of course, mom had white hair at an early age. I have a picture of your great gramma. I thought she was very old in the pic and found out that she was only about 53....Women are much more stylish now. We think "young" longer...Although both were vain and cared about their appearance...vanity seems to run in our family. It's ok. Not a bad trait to have.
Don't ever read Richard Peck's books. Not if you don't want people to think you are crazy for laughing out loud. He is so witty. Two of his books, " A year down yonder" and " A long way from Chicago" won awards..."A long way...won the Newbery." Not shabby. He has one out now called, "Here lies the librarian." That's one I've GOT to read.!
You know, Scott's got a sore finger thing going. The first step suggested for him was physical therapy. He doesn't want to bother with it. I think he may just leave it alone for awhile. I wonder how he'd feel about wearing a brace. I hope yours doesn't get in the way of baby cuddling!
eerggh.... thumb braces.... ? Hope it won't be too annoying... ! Have a great week ya.... looking forward for the baby picture - I think he feels so comfy inside, he just doesn't want to face the real world yet...
great to see you! thanks for the tutoring that is going to happen... by the way, what do you think about Tuesday at 2ish? my first exam is on thursday! eek!! =)
mom, you never told me that you have to wear a brace now. NOT cool. Ne-ways Sam's mom thinks i'm funny,.........i think she likes me......don't know tho. talk to you in the morning.
