I wore my new hand brace last night. When I woke up, the thumb wasn't numb! So I'm wearing it today while gardening. The verdict is still out on that one - I get some shooting pains, but maybe they'd be worse without the brace.
Pictures:
Some different shots of my spring garden.
This is a Jack Frost Brunnera. Notice the tiny little blue flowers, much like forget me nots. But the leaves on the Jack Frost are wonderful all season long.
Solomon seal in bloom. Delicate little white flowers all along the stem.
These are both shade lovers.
Jacob's ladder. This was variegated last year when I bought it, but lost the variegation. It's still pretty though. Sun.
Azalea. Also sun. As you can see the iris are all about ready to pop open!
This jabobs lader is still variegated. It's next to a neon Euphorbia.
And finally, an almost blooming allium. It's in front of a pot full of pansies, which are no longer there. I planted my summer annuals in pots this morning.
I'm way behind in book reviews. This one is so good I recommended it to be one of the books we read next year for book club. Set in modern day Pakistan so you get some culture as you read! It's a different kind of love story. Not trashy. Classic.

Thanks for the flower pics. Our Iris are in various stages of blooming. The Mock Orange bush that is off one about 150 yrs. old is wonderful this year. The Mock Oranges that were on this property when we bought it don't smell as sweet as the one we transplanted from where my folks use to live. Don't know why all are old plants. I hope the 3 azailias or however it's spelled make it. The Clematis don't look like they are getting it together well. I just don't seem to have whatever it takes to get them growing like other people do. Hope they make it.
Oh, your garden is beautiful. This is one of the best times of the year! New life everywhere--even in the house. Glad your brace seems to help.
Oh how gorgeous! Thank you so much for the garden photos. I am especially envious of your azalea. I'm doing without gardening this spring in favour of school, and sometimes it seems like a bleak choice. Much appreciated!
Jack Frost Brunnera...I got a couple of those in the clearance bin 2 summers ago and didn't know what they are. They are really pretty, I love them where I put them. So that answers one of my mystery flower questions...the other is posted in my todays entry
So glad about the thumb!
Hallelujah! Glad the brace is doing it's job. It would be hard to do anything with numbness in the hands. Hope it keeps working.
Your garden looks wonderful. I would like a lot more garden filled with perennials, but since this is Ken's sister's house, we don't want to do too much. And Ken is not in shape to do the digging, either. I might enlarge one area--where there aren't too many tree roots around. Not sure yet. I was looking at azaleas yesterday. But the label showed hardiness only down to -10. Which is not good enough for here. This was at Lowes. I saw a lot of things that would not be truly hardy for here.
Your things are much further ahead than ours. Living on Lake Michigan puts us behind. Even 20 miles inland is about 2 weeks ahead of us. We are about 10 degrees cooler here at this time of year. Why couldn't Ken have been born inland!!!!!!!
Your gardens looks very pretty. so nice that you have large trees and shade.
I am pleased to hear the brace is working so far so good...
Continued good luck with the brace.
and the flowers are beautiful....
Your yard is so pretty!
And keep wearing the brace--except it'll get awfully dirty doing yard work. I know that won't keep you from gardening though-lol! *hugs*
Thank you, Val
Glad the brace worked over night!! Finally some relief. Will pray for Lady Carolina, keep us posted. My tulips are in full bloom, except the late bloomers and the grape hyacynths. My lilac is showing signs of bloom too. Everything is popping up!!! I love bulbs and perennials.
How refreshing! Beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady! Thank you my friend for all of your prayers! ((((HUGS))))

Beautiful flowers. I hope your grandbaby comes soon. I was just blessed with a granddaughter on Monday 5/8. I forgot how beautiful newborns are. Of course, she the most beautiful.
