We're home!
Waiting to be picked up - loaded down with precious cargo!
We got home in the late afternoon. Once we were in I headed back out to obtain provisions. Aparently I'm the only soul capable of buying groceries in this house? What's with that? It worked out OK - I picked up some rotiseree chicken for our evening meal. Maybe tonight I'll have to make a real meal? We'll see.
This was his going home outfit. He's swimming in it - sized newborn. His weight fell to 6 lbs 5 oz. His mom's milk is in now, so I think we'll see some bulking up pretty soon! Got to fill out those skinny little legs!
I just love the wide open mouth in this one!
Couldn't sleep. Don't know why. I'll stay home with Michelle tomorrow. Actually, there are garage sales right in our neighborhood, so I plan to walk around to check those out. Maybe once it warms up and dries out we can start taking Kaden out in his stroller!
I could not find a good angle to take this picture - I put up a sign in the front window. I printed out large block letters and said "WELCOME BABY KADEN"
Now I have him in my lap while I type this. Got to start him young, don't you think?
Good night for now.

Congrats grandma!!!! I am so happy for you all. Kaden is so cute.
Your house is really pretty
Happy times!
I think your house will be a fun place. Wish I could be there.
Welcome Home, indeed!!!
Great idea about the sign in the window. You are so thoughtful, Val.
Baby Kaden will realize he is one lucky little guy having you as his grandma. I am wondering about his name. It is quite unique. At least I've never heard of it. I love it.
I also love that picture of him with his mouth open. AWW! He is so precious! I wish him lots of love.
Yay wonderful pictures
congratulations to all of you
Welcome home! What I love about that open mouth picture is the way Michelle is looking at Kaden. You can see the tenderness in her face, and how attached to him she has already become. God bless you all.
xoxoxo
Now the fun begins. Just a been there done that remark. Much as it makes you bite your tongue etc. let Michelle do all the child care. It is so hard to back off and let go but she needs that bonding time and learning how much work babies are. Don't be too available except to cuddle and coo when it is on your time and terms. Michelle doesn't have a good record of accepting responsibility and now is the time she has to do so or you will be raising another child. Where is Sam in the pic now? Hopefully this will make them both get a grip and grow up. Michelle has good background with your parenting to know how to do it.
Welcome baby Kaden! Enjoy this time there is no greater love then that of your grandbaby in your arms the first time.
God Bless you all.
Judy
It's so exciting! Looking forward to lots more pictures.
LadyEowyn directed me to your site. Just wanted to say congratulations. What a cute little grandson you have.
Beautiful pictures! Congratulations to all of you. Enjoy your little baby boy!
You say "have to start them young". Do you mean "spoiling"???? After all, that is what grammas are for. Of course, if he is living in your house, you may not want to do that TOO much! lol
Cute going-home outfit!! No doubt he is a boy wearing that!
just stopping by to say congrats!!

hey Val... Peter was just here and he said, "you are NOT the only person in your house capable of buying groceries and I'm sorry that I didn't."
cograts on having Michelle and Kaden home! i'll have to come by and visit soon =)
What a gorheous baby!! God bless him!! Congrats on your new grandson :O).
LOL I meant GORGEOUS.... its still early my coffee has not kicked in yet lol.
Kaden is a beautiful baby...I have to agree with SunnyC that Michelle should be responsible for his care. I know I would be like you and want to do it all but she has to take over to bond with him. I doubt she will have much trouble, she looks like she is in love already. How sweet.
Oh, he is beautiful! And I agree with the above comments on letting Michelle take care of him. This is her chance of learning responsiblity--she sure looks motivated to me. God bless you all.
Next year, you and some friends should really make a day trip out to Whiting for this thing. I saw sooooo much in the way of baby clothes, equipment, you name it. And everything else under the sun too! One guy was selling aloe plants (I've been thinking about getting one) but he wanted $3 for them.
Oh, and I bought petunia's, not pansies lol. I get the two mixed up.
