I feel ever so much better today than yesterday. Michelle is finally on board with the reception plans - we are going to have a garden brunch! Mark your calendars for August 26, 11 a.m. Quiches and muffins, fresh fruit and wedding cake. Yum! Seriously, if any of you want an invite, just e-mail me. You have seen me through this whole past year - I'm indebted to each and every one of you!
I went to the Niles flower show today. Before that my garden club went out to lunch at Steak and Ale. They were the ones who gave me the great idea of doing a brunch. Now this thing is moving.
I'm heading back to Muskegon tomorrow, just for an overnighter and to help Linda with cleaning and what not. So I'll be offline for the next day or so.
Michelle and Sam helped out his parents when they hosted Amish church last Sunday. They left grandmas on Saturday afternoon so they could help with last minute details and cleaning. So when they came home on Sunday they were all dressed Amish. Here is Michelle holding Kaden, both in costume.
Then some various arrangements from the show.
I liked this one - red hat theme!
Different use of color here.
This was a garden center display - very pretty.
Just unique!

Yay for the Red Hat display! That is very clever indeed.
Gosh--the arrangements were beautiful! Such talented people in this world! The little one is growing quickly. He's a handsome little dude, but then you know that!
*hugs*
I want to thank you for your comment, it made me feel much better to know someone else "gets" this craziness (I mean, I knew you did anyway, but your comment still helped). The flowers are beautiful!
I liked the canoe. What can I say! Michelle dressed Amish.....hmmmm. Kaden is sooo cute!
I think I like the canoe one the best. That is neat seeing Kaden and Mi in amish clothing. Where do you live again?
You can count on us being there August 26th.
I like all the pictures...but the one of Mother and son in the Amish garb is my very favorite! Sweet. Michelle looks great modestly attired....
The theme's are cool! I have one bedroom in our home decorated in 1940's Hollywood.
Had to laugh at your mom's comment. I'm behind her one hundred per cent. It is so sad that the girls seem to have no concept of modesty anymore. One great-niece was at the reunion Sun. Chunky girl to start with and then the clothes....OH, MY!!! My g-daughter dresses so inappropriately but at least she isn't chunky to go with it. I remember mother telling me that leaving something to the imagination made life more interesting than showing the merchandise.
Love the flower pics and know too that your brunch will be wonderful. Send food pics! Glad you parents will be there too.
Beautiful arrangements...I like the new haircut, looks nice on you.
I noticed in your mom's comments you mentioned you couldn't see her protected posts on your updated readers list...If you look at the top of the list there should be a tab for protected posts.
Have a great day!
Great photos! If I didn't have our Healthy Kids Walk on the 26th I'd be heading out to meet you all!
The red hat arrangement was really a great one. I liked it the best.
Your daughter and grandbaby looked so cute in the Amish clothing. Is she taking it up and accepting the lifestyle?
Have fun planning your brunch, it sounds wonderful.
Love the lighting on the pic of Michelle and Kaden. It looks like Kaden is bathed in a soft light.
It always amazes me how people come up with such neat and unusual decorating ideas with flowers and other things, too. Our local museum has a display in January each year called "Table Settings". I haven't been to it, but pics have been in the paper of the settings. They get more innovative each year. People submit their names to the museum, and only so many are chosen---by lottery---to do a table. These floral displays, like the red hat and canoe ones, would be integrated into a whole dining table done in a red hat theme or a canoe theme, along with dishes, glasses, table cloths,, etc.. I always wanted to go, but I hate to go out in January. Wish they had it in summer!
Sure wish I lived closer----would accept your invite in a heartbeat. Between you and your mom, I feel as though I know you all so well,, and would love to meet you!
My only problem is Aug 26th is the day they have set aside for the Healthy Walk Back to School event for the Hammond school kids. And since I'm on the committee, I think I better show up! Its supposed to run from 9-4, but I may be able to say I have other plans I have to take care of and leave early!
RYC: Ain't it the truth! I don't know what I would do without my women friends. They are total life savers!
Thank you for the prayers for Brad! I know he & his family appreciate it!
RYC - Megan needs the driver's permit to take driver's education. Maybe she shouldn't drive?
Baby Kaden is beautiful!
The pool is mine, the one I've been worrying about how to get it open this year!
beautiful arrangements! love the red hat one!
wish I could come to the brunch reception ..but....I'll be there in my heart!
love that picture of Michelle and Kaden...I think your girl has finally grew up! she looks so happy being a wife and mommy!
Have a fantastic holiday weekend and God bless you all((HUGS))
Ah! A garden wedding. Sweet!
I'd have loved to go. Sadly, my sister needs me in Texas. You know why. I am wishing Michelle and Sam many years of love but most of all respect for each other. *HUGS* to you! I loved all the pics!
