  • No worries.

This is Barney's box.  It was left on the floor, waiting to be put outside and recycled when Barney claimed it as his.  Now it sits next to the windows leading to the sunroom and Barney goes there when he's tired.  Dave puts his toys in it when he finds them.  It's looking a little ratty, but Barney doesn't care.

Today is March 1.  This means that February is over.  Maybe we'll all be done with SAD soon?  I just feel like I've been in a mild depression since after the holidays.  I get this way every winter.  I really need to be able to get outside to walk, to garden, to feel alive again!

Yesterday Michelle and I had brunch at IHOP, where they were celebrating National Pancake day with free shortstacks.  I made a donation to the reading foundation, so they weren't really free, but I thought it was a nice gesture on their part.

Before that I saw the hand doctor.  He has no idea what's wrong with my thumb, but he doesn't think it's arthritis either.  See, I already like the man.  So I'm going to have an MRI next Thursday.  He basically said that if it's anything serious they'll find it that way.  If it's not serious, then we'll just hope it goes away on it's own.  He could tell there was something going on with it because of the swelling.  Sigh.

I just finished a total escape novel.  "Skinny Dip".  A little raunchy, but the story was clever and moved quickly.  One of those guilty pleasures.  I know I shouldn't really read, but every once in a while I do.  One of the bad characters did meet a good Christian lady and turned over a new leaf.  Totally platonic mother figure.  And there was a bit about the way the everglades are being destroyed by pesticides.  So there.  I've convinced myself it had some redeeming qualities!

  • Mmmm. IHOP. Thats a vacation only pleasure for us since Boondocks is well, the Boondocks and the nearest one is probably 75 miles away.  Now I'm craving their apple pancakes.

  • LOL! That Barney is such a cutie! I am glad you do not have arthritis and hope that the MRI on Thursday helps them find what is wrong with your thumb and that it is nothing bad! Take Care.

  • I am in love too... with your cat ! Barney's sooo cute - and he seems to understand you too.... smart cat !

  • I've read all but one of his books, Double Whammy, and thoroughly enjoyed them .The characters are so quirky and they make me laugh right out loud!

  • I'll have to read that.  The everglades are being destroyed because of all the agricultural waste that they dump into the water system....Just can't win. If we want good produce, we put on fertilizer and that in turn polutes the water....

I sure hope they find out what is wrong with that thumb!

Barney is such a sweetheart.  You mean you are catering to him?  Spoiling him!  O no.  I can't believe you are spoiling a cat....

  • LOL about the redeeming qualties that was cute. I have never been to IHOP. I am praying your thumb gets better, because you have some gardening to do soon. I can't wait until spring, I am biting at the bit for it.

  • Got caught up with you.  We enjoy that music too.  I am converting Wil from a totally C&W person to other music.  He is a fast study!  I'm enjoying some C&W too.  Just can't stand it when they sing through their nose.

I'm glad you and Michelle are doing fun things together.  Maybe the closer the baby gets the smarter you will get.  Grin!

I need to get off here and get things done to go to TX first thing Fri. a.m.  I'm so hating the having to go to Amarillo the next weekend with son and g-son.  Such an expense and so tiring.  But they are coming home with me for the week....just wanted g-son but son is coming and that will help with the driving.  It will be spring break for them.  No teaching jobs.

Sure do hope you find out about the thumb!

  • Oh I forgot to say how cute your kitty is just sleeping in his box hehehe

  • My cats often find the oddest places to stake out as their own.  We go along with them as you did.  My kitten (8 months) has discovered the fun of diving between the sheets when I make the bed... so I can watch the lump move back and forth until she decides to come out.  LOL.

I didn't know IHOP had free pancakes yesterday....sorry I missed it.

  • Barney looks totally happy--just look at the smile on his face! LOL Skooter's fav place to lay is my computer  chair. Almost as soon as I am out of it he hops on and curls up. March did slip in fast, huh? Time time time--just flies by anymore. *hugs*

  • Have they checked your thumb/arm/wrist for carpal tunnel?  That often affects the thumb. Read somewhere that there is nothing so funny as a 15 pound cat trying to fit in a small shoebox. My kitties always like boxes too.

  • Oh, I know what you mean about February and SAD! Come on, Spring!

  • No creature on Earth knows how to make a nap look better than a cat!

  • Cats find pleasure in the simplest of things don't they?

  • I need a box, Barney looks so content *L*

  • Hi Val...

Thanks for reading my x-tra long post.. and for the comments. As for the Clot, unfortunately, it is not gone... completly that is. It has somewhat cleared from the ankle to the knee.. but is still very much present in from the knee to the L-2 vertebrae. I am still on Cumiden and will probably be until the Lord either heals me or.. it otherwise. We continue to trust the Lord in every situation, and appreciate so much your prayers.

May the Lord bless and have a wonderful weekend... our son is home, so I get to spend some time with him !!!!

    Phil
