Busy week. Sorry for not updating sooner.
I subbed today. Yesterday I had book club in the morning, then did my tutoring job at noon so that I could accompany Michelle to a childbirth class from 1:30 until 5. That was interesting. They showed a few videos of births - it's really amazing that I've managed to forget just how painful and prolonged labor is. Selective memory strikes again. I'm sure that Michelle will be an awful patient!
But guess who showed up at the class? Yup. Sam. Seems he's serious about trying to make this work. Yup. Of course he is. He has some major persuading to do here. But I'm glad he's trying and am praying that he's for real. But I'm dubious. Hopeful, but scared. Dave had quite a talk with him about his intentions and change of heart. I was so glad that he did that. I love it when he does the dad role so well!
Tomorrow I'm going to Navy Pier in Chicago for the annual Chicagoland garden show. Fernwood, the closest botanical garden to here, is having a chartered bus and I bought my ticket a long time ago. I'm pumped! I promise to take lots of pictures and post them. I went a few years back and it was terrific.
I hope that you are all doing well. I've tried to check in on all of you, but if I missed anybody, I'm sorry about that!

Have fun at the flower show. I am sure you will.....hope the weather holds for you too.
Have a great time. Wear a coat. I wish I had known you were coming, I would have loved to buy you lunch!
Enjoy your day. Sounds like fun.
"Cool display. What's an album?" Ask your mother.
Aaagh... I am praying for Michelle and Sam too - I really hope he'll grow up to be a responsible man - so sweeeeeeet and glad indeed that hubby steps in.... I am sure Michelle really appreciates his dad for it !
yeah... ditto on the whole praying for Michelle and Sam thing... hope that everything goes well in Chicago. +)
=) oops... hehe
Yes Chicago does have a great garden. I love garden shows. I do hope things go well for Michelle too.
I well remember the birth of my first born. Took a long long time. I felt as if I had been through a wringer(old time washing machines...no one will get the illustration) but then, they showed me this beautiful baby and the pain was forgotten.
RYC: Of course I knew you were kidding, we're the same age! Have fun at Navy Pier today.
Does Fran think she's the only one that remembers wringer washers? *L* My Grandma had one.
I hope that Sam is sincere and that he will step up and take responsibility and become, at the very least, a good father for this baby. And if he's not sincere I pray that he just goes away.
Have fun at the garden show.
Oh, Val. Praying as always for Michelle, you, Dave, Sam, etc!
I am so glad Sam showed up for class. Even if they don't make it to the alter I think he should help Michelle with the responsibilities of the baby. Perhaps this is a step towards growing up a bit for him. Keeping all of you in my prayers! Take Care!

Wow, you are so busy Val!
I'm glad Sam showed up. I just hope he doesn't blow it. Michelle needs positive support. Thank goodness she has a great family!
She might be as lucky as I was with birthing. First one 2 hrs. second one just barely made it to the hosp. Sorry about that all you gals that had long drawn out labors. My daughter didn't go fast either. I wish there were things close here that women could do for fun like your flower shows. There just isn't anything in these small town country areas to do unless you go 2 hrs. to KC or Springfield/Branson. We live in the middle of nowhere so to speak. I miss that about living near or in the city. Don't think I'd ever want to live in one again but close would be good.
