Pictures of pretty flowers, as promised.
They had a flower show and this won a whole bunch of awards. I didn't do it justice with this photo.
On to other fun stuff.
This was one of the first gardens we looked at. It is so colorful and cheerful!
"Days of Wine and Hoses" Cindy and I both thought that was cute.
This was a rather austere Japanese garden. How'd you like a bamboo curtain like that?
This was from a huge display of new plants for 2006. When can I go shopping?
I thought these were just too cool. I wonder if they'll find a place in my yard? In a container perhaps?
Blue and white hyacinths. Can you smell them?
There were lots more cool things but I was on overload. Good thing I didn't have to drive the two hours back home. I had a headache that lasted into the wee hours. I didn't sleep well, even though I was exhausted, probably because Barney didn't come home last night and because, between my head and my thumb, I was in pain. No sign of the cat this morning before I headed off to sub, but he was inside when I got home this afternoon. No one was home to tell me when he came back and he wasn't saying. I'm very relieved. Stupid cat.
I visit the hand specialist tomorrow with my film. He should have received the report from the MRI office, so I'm really hopeful they will be able to heal whatever is wrong. It isn't going away. It's been two months. It's annoying and painful!
Enough gripping. I finished an interesting book about the other Indian who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their famous cross-country expedition. Really worth your while if you enjoy that sort of book.
And Sam and Michelle are still trying to work things out. O Lord, please continue to guide and direct Dave and me through this morass! Amen.

Are you planning to do some new stuff? I noticed those caladiums. Mine might be just beginning to peek through.
RYC: Yes, I agree. You usually don't act your age...sometimes you act very young and sometimes older than your mom! So...what's a 50 year old to act like? I wouldn't know. I don't remember.
Coleus...not caladiums!
ryc: If you used the link in my March 15 post, it took you to the special offer at amazon for an autographed copy. If you used the link in my left module (the link that's always on my site) it took you to the publisher and the copy won't be autographed. But when it arrives, let me know and I'll give you my address. You can mail it to me and I'll sign it and mail it back.
honestly, I do know the difference between gaillardia and hydrangea. LOL. I explained in my blog that I went to the nursery to get some gaillardia (I liked to a picture of them) and took pictures of hydrangea while I was there.
These are great pics and I love the wine and hoses.... vine and hoses would have been cool too.
I love garden shows, they always have the latest and greatest and very tempting ideas... makes you want to go home and redo the whole place!
Looks like you had the best time!
I hope they find a solution to your thumb problem.
Do you know what I discovered simply by chance and because I was desperate!? When I was in TX I got such headaches several times. The allergy/sinus stuff etc. didn't seem to make a dent...may have made it worse...so in desperation I used one of our products called OPC III. It is a product that is suppose to cleanse the body and take all the icky stuff out or whatever....anyway I took that in the evening....when the headaches seem to really be bad and Walla....head aches gone. I was so happy. A natural product that did the job even if it isn't a job that it is advertised to do. Made a believer out of me. Think I'll write the company and tell them. Maybe they will send me a free bottle or some such thing....Yeah, right!!! lol
Hang in there. The kids will do what they do and there isn't a thing you can do about it. I am just dealing on a daily basis with everything that comes my way right now.
Daughter is doing well and will be through radiation Fri. A week after she was suppose to be done since the machine broke down last week. She is gaining some new day care kids so maybe she will be able to pay her house payment next month...she is needing new glasses too but maybe she can deal with that also....have to see. Wil and I need to do glasses so badly. We are just going to have to bite the bullet and do it after all settles down. I can't believe the prices of glasses anymore. I would love to just have the eye surgery and do away with them if I can talk Wil into it. You would save money in the long run. I hate wearing glasses and the contacts don't do well with my allergies.
Wil is going with me to return son and g-son to TX Saturday. We will then have our calm and peaceful hom back again.
We will be back home Tues or Wed. Wil has a doc appt. Thurs. and the calves are still coming. Really am surprised that he is going with me since that is still going on. The neighbor will keep close check on them tho. Will farm 2 house dogs out and neighbor will feed outside dog and cat. Suppose to have bad weather this weekend or would just leave the one dog out......well, guess I really can't since she can only eat the small bites dog food.
Sorry about rambling. Going to Quilt Guild tonight so better get something going for the rest of them for supper.
Love the pics. of the flowers.
I am soo jealous of your trip! I could just smell everything as I looked at the pix. Too bad about the headache. Praying that 1, we find out what's going on with your hand and 2, That God's perfect Will will be done in Michelle and Sam's lives.
Hyacinth! That's the blue stuff blooming with the daffodils in front of my apartment! They do smell pretty
The pictures are beautiful, and so springy. I have such a "brown" thumb lol. I'm so glad Michelle is doing better from a behavior perspective. I'm not sure I wish pregnancy on Jess, though.. hehehehe.
ryc: I managed to check your order at amazon. You will be getting an autographed copy. It'll probably arrive sometime next week.

Those purple spikey-looking flowers are way cool. All my spring bulbs are coming up, I'm afraid I won't get much out of them if this weather keeps acting goofy.
Oh yes-- I can smell those hyacinths from here! Mmmmmmm. . .
That would have been so fun, looking at all the flowers. I saw Zinna and Phlox in the one picture and I began to dream. Then I woke up, oh yeah I have a foot of snow out side.
Looking at the pix, can't believe we are in winter....! Looking forward for this summer, I am starting to work on my yard.... phew... ! I love the bamboo curtain, that's what we got for our home (the cheap version, of course !).
Barney is funny..... should have given him a cellphone... kkk...
. Well, perhaps should put this GPS device on him.... or better not know what he's up to ...
See you soon... !!!
I'm back to give your garden show pictures a better look. I wonder what those are in the 7th picture. They look exotically space-age, don't they? I hope everything works out okay for Michelle -- and you and Dave, too.
