Guess I need to update. We have been enjoying having Ken home. Today he heads to Illinois to visit with his friends there. Since we moved here the summer after he graduated high school, he doesn't have a friend base here and usually heads "home" for a few days each break. We can't begrudge him that! I'm happy that he's home for a few days. He'll be back again at the end of the week and return to college on Sunday.
Michelle worked her last day at Marshall Fields on Sunday. They closed their doors for good here today. She was already bored yesterday, so I'm afraid we're in for a long two months, or however long it takes for Kaden to arrive. At least she'll now have time to do her chores every day! Will she do them though? This waits to be seen.
The shower plans are progressing. Some of the people from her work approached her, wanting to throw her a shower. She told them that she was already having a shower and they could all come here. So I asked her if the person who wanted to give the shower could bring the cake and I think that's what's happening. The girl who supposedly is giving the shower (here, at our house) finally called me this weekend to see what she could do. I delegated all the games and prizes to here. She was happy with that.
And the big news is that my mom is going to fly here in order to attend the shower! Whoot! Whoot! Mom hates to fly, so this is quite the event for her. She'll come on the Thursday and leave on Monday so she'll be here on Palm Sunday too. I'm happy.
Now I'll go and visit all of you. School was off yesterday (they schedule snow days, then if they're not used, the district has days off - they only used one day - it was while we were in Hawaii - so they had Monday as a vacation. Teachers aren't supposed to get a sub the day before or after a vacation, so no calls today. Guess I'll have to do some cleaning! Maybe some scrapbooking?

I hope he's not going to central IL its a mess! It is spring right?? LOL.
RYC, I have to be there at 12:30, surgery is at 1:30 and supposedly only takes an hour since I'm having 3 procedures done. I guess though its an estimate. Since its a local anesthetic I should only have to stay about another hour or two after that.
Caught up with your posts. Your kids don't get along?? How horrible. Mine are just best friends........yeah, right! When we are no longer here doubt that they ever see or talk to each other. Too bad but will be their choice. So enjoyed your flower pics. Wish you were close enough to come help me organize and "do" my spaces.
I'm thinking of getting one of those red twig dogwood bushes to put in with the plants, trees, bushes I'm putting in piece by piece in the north part of the yard. May get 3 of them so that there is color over there year round. Guess the twigs stay red all winter. I have so much space here that it is hard for me to be sure I have enough in each space and get some things that give alittle splash all year. I'm probably dealing with 3 acres all together that needs some color. Once Wil decideds what he is doing with fences down by the barn I want to get yellow bushes of various types in on the north side of that with some sort of small but tall, sorta like the Japaneese Maple but can't use that color against a red barn, type thing. May just use a tall grass that will grow on the north side of something. Sure do hope that we didn't lose any trees, grasses, bushes over this dry winter. Did water the Bald Cypress we put in last spring so hopefully it made it. It is always so hard to wait to see what comes back up and what has filled in more space each spring.
Good luck with Michelle doing her chores. I have no hope for my one married with children child. Daughter keeps her place pretty neat and tidy for having so many kids of all ages and sizes in and out on a daily basis. Her kids help but they should do more without being told but they are teens......!!!
Sure hope the treatments are helping your thumb. This weather is so hard on arthritis.
Good for your Mom to come all that way for the shower. Know you guys will have such a good time.
Scrapbooking now were talking, hehe. Baby showers are so fun. I don't have any little ones to buy for any more. Though once in a while i will buy something for the little one I nanny for. That is so neat that your mom is coming.
How wonderful that Fran is coming for the shower. Just pray that there aren't any freak snowstorms in mid-april. Know how much she would LOVE that!!! Glad you are having help with the shower. Then you can enjoy the day more.
Sounds like the shower will really be a huge event. I hope she gets lots of things she can use. Is she starting to get excited at all? I am sure she will be glad she is not working as she gets bigger and might want more rest. Maybe she can start reading all the baby books there are to see what she is in for.
I am thrilled you mom is coming up.
I hope you had a wonderful day doing some things that needed to get done. It is always a good feeling. I have a list I keep dusting off
Hello, just surfed and found your site..like it by the way... have a great week, hope to see you visit me sometime~Sue
Since I made those plane reservations, I've heard two TV stories about how much luggage the airlines are losing....wonder if I could get everything on a carry on? Or..maybe just pack old stuff I don't mind losing but....we need to buy luggage and I wouldn't want to lose new luggage.
I just know that they'll take me aside for a special search since I'm the kind they think might be a terrorist since I'm caucasian and don't look middle eastern....and a senior citizen. I guess I'll have to wear shoes that can slip off and nylons and...see that my toenails are properly polished....O joy!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone....after I get off the plane...
How cool that your Mom is coming!! Will this be her first great-grandbaby?
Val, forget the cleaning--do the scrapbooking! Well, you can clean a little if it makes you feel better!
Hi Val,
I want to send Michelle something for the shower. May I? If so, please e-mail me your addy.
It nice to know that your mom will be attending the shower. I'm getting excited for your grandbaby.... but.... you don't look old enough to be a grandmother!
I'm trying to catch up with posts but I'm getting ready to go to Texas. Once there I will definitely have time to read up and catch up with more of your Hawaii pics and baby news.
Have a wonderful day!
*hugs*
