Since there is demand (one of you said you wanted to see it) I'll post the pictures of my poster on perennials for various Master Gardener committments.

    It's in three parts.

The center section, which defines perennials and gives a list of the perennial plants of the year award winners.

One side bar shows shade perennials.

The other side bar shows sun perennials.

Michelle is complaining of cramping and contractions.  If this is it, you won't be hearing from me until it's over.  You can always check out our progress at the great-grandma's site, josaju. http://www.xanga.com/josaju

I love this mystery series by Jeanne M. Dams.  It's set in turn-of-the-century South Bend, mostly set in the Studebaker mansion.  Historically fun and, as far as I can tell, accurate.  But then, how would I know if it wasn't?  I wasn't alive in 1904!!!!!

  • Ooooohhhh!  I hope everything goes ok for Michelle!  Although she's pretty early yet.  Would they stop the contractions if thats what they are?

  • OMG! It just seems like yesterday Michelle got pregnant--where has time GONE? I'll be anxiously awaiting news! Loved the Easter pics btw and your red hat was great! *hugs*

  • Nice addition.  I've already moved it up into the story post.  Thanks.

  • I came her to tell you that I love what you wrote at doah's site. But then I read about Michelle. I hope all is fine. I thought it was a couple of weeks away yet. Well when Kaden is ready to appear in this world, we will be waiting with open arms. This is my first xanga-related-birth!

  • I'm glad you're helping murder someone over on Jeff's site again!  I like your addition.

While I'm here, I'll also say that I love gardening, and I really like your posters.  I used to work in a nursery, and the "perennial of the year" was always sought after.  We couldn't keep scabiosa or coneflowers or rudbeckia in stock.  I do love dianthus - if only I had some sun to put it in.

  • I imagine Michelle will have more cramps and contractions before the baby gets here but best of luck.  Your red hat is beautiful.

I made a layered jello salad a couple of times, it is really pretty but I think it takes a lot of time....

  • Hey Val

The boards look great I would love to be there for your talk.

How exciting about the new little one soon coming into the world.

  • It's still early.  But I will be waiting for that phone call.  I will be praying.

  • I wish you were close enough to "do" my yard or at least draw me up a plan that I could do on my own.  I have about 3 acres that I need to do something with.  I've started but never know if things will do well or how to really take care of them.  If you want to come for a visit I'll give you free rein?!?!

Know it is exciting waiting for the baby no matter what the situation or what has gone before or is to come.  Be strong!

  • RYC:  Boy, that was fast!  I have grasses, those fire bushes, lilac, etc. on the east of the lane to the house.  North of the house I have a Golden Chain tree with various bushes...I'm still adding just not this year with it so dry....and a Redbud tree....hostas up by the no. side of house.

Various mums, rose moss, carnations, begonias in pots at start of lane, wave petunias etc. infront of the porch along with bushes, etc. etc. etc.  2 hosta beds east side of lane and no. of the house drive-way.  Some stuff up on the hill.  This year I will probably use some silk flowers in various pots that are hard to get water to.  I ordered 3 big hanging baskets with the liners yesterday and will pot my own baskets for the front porch this year.  Have several from last year that wintered over inside and need to be seperated and added to etc.  I think I will be ok with those and do a good job.  It will be fun.  Still have some annuals to go in the bed infront of the house and Wil's garage and into a big old black oblong boiler.  I'll get more tomorrow.  I need more wave petunia's for planters infront of porch.
