  • No baby.  Yet.  The contractions were consistent for about an hour, then petered out.  We're hoping she can hold out past tomorrow night, when Dave and I are driving up to Hope to take Ken out to dinner and go see "Love's Labors Lost", the latest campus production.

Please check out the serial mystery over at doahsdeer.  I have jumped in again to help write it.

I've been tagged for this q&A:

Before I die, I want to......

    1.  See my children happily established with homes and families of their own, happy in their lives and living and walking daily with Jesus.

    2. Make sure that all my friends and family will be with me in glory.

    3.  Visit Europe.  The parts of England that I didn't get to go to, plus France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Italy and especially, Slovakia, since that's where most of my ancestors came from.

    4. Watch my grandchildren grow up and succeed in their chosen fields in life.

    5.  Attend the ceremony when my husband wins the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.  (hey, I can dream, right!)

    6.  Glorify God with how I spend each day.  This is my daily goal.

If I think of anything else, I'll add it.  Feel free to jump in and do this too.

Breathing at night is something I'll try not to take for granted again.  I woke up in the middle of the night panicky because I couldn't catch a breath.  So when I woke up this morning my throat was totally sore from having my mouth open most of the night.  I hate colds.  I hope this goes away before I have to go to the hospital with Michelle!

  • MMM...sounds like it won't be long now Grandma.  A cold, waiting on a baby, and all the other things you have on your plate... you are a hero!  I don't know how you do it.  Hope this day goes well for you and you enjoy tomorrows evening out.  Try to get some rest before baby comes to meet you ... I have an idea you will be needed very very much when it arrives. (not that you aren't needed now mind you)  Take Care.

  • I wanna see my great great grandchildren grow up and succeed. That means I'll live really really long!  Hope the timing works out Grandma.

  • great GREAT grandchildren grow up!?  I think I'll be watching mine from heaven....

Rest or do whatever it takes to not let that cold flourish.  If that means you have to cut some activity...(other than driving M to the hospital)  DO IT!

  • You need to do what your mom says.

RYC: The couple are in there late 50 to early 60. They are something else.

Hope the baby waits a few more days. Keep us updated.

  • I missed your poster blog below. Excellent job. I love making posters. Yours is very good.

This is a good list here... eh... we can hope can't we?

  • Good old Braxton-Hicks.....my daughter went to the hospital three times thinking she was in labor with her first....they sent her home each time.  ryQ:  Not much space between the two, it will be almost exactly two years.  Baby A was born 9-13, and baby M is due tentatively 9-5, altho' her ultrasound showed it may be closer to 9-8.  I can't wait to hear about baby K's arrival....you getting excited yet??

    xoxoxo

  • Nice list.  I hope you get to see all of them (even the Nobel Prize).  Thanks for contributing another piece to the story.  I love it.

  • Hi Val,

  • P.S. Does Calvin look really different now? Or can you tell it is the same person?

Bobby is not in your yearbook. He went to West Tech in freshman and sophmore years. He was at JMHS in his last two years but he was also in some kind of work program, hence he spent the minimal amount of time at JMHS.

  • Bobby has a yearbook but he thinks it might be over at his parents house. I'd love to see your picture. I do remember you posting some pictures from those days, but I can't recall if they are from your yearbook.

  • I know I said I wasn't going to do it but......The azalia sp? bushes were on sale end of season for 3.00 each so I got 3 today.  Along with 60.00 worth of other flowers.  Now to get them in the ground.
