  • Just came back from the doctor.  I'm now on amoxicillin and some old guaifenex - he told me it would be OK to take it, it wasn't that old.  He says they've been seeing a lot of illness the last few weeks, after a really calm winter.  Go figure.   Then after the exam we got to talking about the baby, the Amish, and then alternative fuels.  We always talk for at least 15 minutes when I go in there.  So now you know why your appointment is late - the doc is in an exam room chatting with a patient like me.  I think I make him laugh.

I'm reading Wicked for the next book club.  It's pretty cool.  I'm almost done with it.  See, when I get sick, I read.  Oh wait.  I read anyway.  But when I'm sick I can read a 400 page book in a day.  I didn't quite do that yesterday - I left about 100 pages to read today, but now I'm almost done.  I took some time out to sleep.  What's with that?  I mean in the afternoon, as well as at night.

I'm trying to decide if I should go to the play tonight or not.  I really want to, just don't know if I ought to.  As I told Dave, I'm feeling way better than the time I had to go see the Nutcracker with Michelle when I was falling over with Pneumonia (or something similar) and Dave couldn't take her and she had to go to fulfill a dance class requirement in high school.  If I could do it then, I could do this tonight.  It's not like I have to drive - Dave will do that!

But, on the other hand, I really want to shake this quickly so I can be with Michelle when she delivers.  Oh me oh my, what to do, what to do!

    Blessings for a great weekend.

  • I am a chatty patient too I think they enjoy a few normal ones.
I hope you feel better very soon. Drink a whole pot of warm tea. The expectorant works so well if you drink a lot. It is good you acted on this one early.
There is a lot of sickness going around....

    I hope you have a great week-end.

  • I hope you are feeling better soon. By the way, how is your hand?

RYC: I wrote down the pages you gave to me and then I deleted so no one can find it. I hope Bobby can locate his book at his parents home.

  • hey, May term starts May 8th. so hopefully we can get together with Sarah and Dan and Natalie and you can bring the book then. ok, not Dan, but yeah anyway... =)

  • Go to the prog.  You will be unhappy if you miss it and whether you are sitting at home or sitting there you are going to get well in the same amt. of time...might as well enjoy what and when you can.

  • I think you should stay HOME and rest.  Although, by the time I'm writing this you're probably  there already.  You'll give your germs to someone else.

Chicken soup and yes...a lot of tea...Maybe some lemon and honey.

  • My daughter loves Wicked.  The senior high choir took a field trip to see the play in Chicago.  She said it's awesome, too.

Hope you feel better real soon!

  • I really enjoyed that book!  Hope you are feeling better.  Have a great weekend.

  • So-----what DID you do???  I almost never go out when I am sick.  If I do, I usually relapse, but that is just me!   Hope you get better quick, and that the baby doesn't arrive too soon!!!

  • Hope you're feeling 100% very quickly, Val....You have too much going on to be sick *L*

My doc is always too busy telling me about his wonderful life for me to even get a diagnosis half the time *L*  I've needed a new general practioner for a very long time now...I run everything through my diabetes doc, which is not how it should be but....

    Have a great weekend.

  • I wish *my* doctor would take the time to chat.  He's in, out, and billing the insurance company.  I find myself apologizing if I have to ask additional questions.  Reading back over what I just wrote, it occurs to me that it's probably time to find a new doc.  Congrats on your soon-to-be-grandma-hood!   I'm slowly but surely coming to terms with the situation.  My son and his girlfriend chose now to marry and, I guess, that bothers me some.  I worry about how he's going to handle the responsibility but I figure God doesn't make mistakes so I'll just have to trust that things will work out.  I feel too YOUNG to be someone's Grandma!!  Waaaa!

RYC:  If it flew off of your fingertips, then it's meant to be.  I don't have time to sit and add anything to the story today but maybe I can jump in again on Monday.  Nice to meetcha!

  • You are writing some very good stuff over at doah's site, Val!

  • RYC:  Jeff and Judy were 21 when they got married.  They were married in Jan., and Jacob was born in November---so they didn't "waste" any time!  Greg and Lori were 23 when they married in Aug.  Lydia was born in the following June.  So both families were "busy" right away. lol  And they each had 6 kids--3 boys and 3 girls each.  I always teased them that they were copycats.
