  • We've made it through another week.  Two to go until the due date.  We did spend time in the hospital on Saturday, but they sent us home.  This time with 2 monitor belts, which she has packed in her luggage for the next try.  One of these days......

I spent all yesterday afternoon in the garden.  Sheer bliss.  I planted the perennials that I had purchased.  I haven't planted the annuals yet.  Still a little early I'm afraid.  I really think the frost-free date has moved up, but I don't want to chance planting them in April!  I usually plant around mother's day, but I think I may be otherwise occupied that day!

We have a new project in our house (besides the baby).  Dave is going to install laminate flooring in the family room, just like he did in the dining room a year ago.  So we spent last week moving the furniture around to other rooms, then taking up the carpeting and the pad.  It doesn't sound like it should take all week, but it's all the stuff on top of the computer desks, and moving the computers and other equipment.  But the room is empty.  Dave had to pick out all the staples and now is sanding the floor to make it even.  He is a stickler, but his projects always turn out great.  I'm more slap and dash, so it's good that he's doing this and not me!

Let's see.  Read a few more books.  Which one to comment on?  Janis Harrison writes a mystery series based in a small Missouri river town.  The protagonist is a florist and manages to get herself entwined in all sorts of interesting entanglements.  I enjoy them.

  • I am kind of a slap go girl too. I will start out with good intention, but if it takes to long or I get bored, ahhh it looks good, don't you think, hehe.

  • Could Dave come down here and help us with putting in a laminate floor??.  I dread doing this room with the computers,(wires) printer/scanner, TV, books and book shelves.  But....it needs to be done.  It's going to be a real picnic getting all this stuff out!

  • Your daffodils and bleeding hearts look so nice.  Most of my daffodils are out, but my bleeding heart is just a few inches high.  The daffodils are mostly against the south side of the house, so they came out early this year.  The bleeding heart is further back in the yard, and is mostly shade.

We had rain off and on all day yesterday, and will again today.  Now we need some warmth to get everything growing again---it has cooled down to normal.  We WERE about two weeks early.  Nurseries won't even sell annuals yet.  I did buy several perennials, though.  Of course, you can get anything at places like WalMart and Lowes,, etc..  They will sell anytime.  But the quality is not there, that is for sure.  I bought Bee Balm, Russian Sage,  4 Columbine,  and a second Thrift (Armeria) plant.  Now, all I want to get are some day lilies.  Nurseries here seem to each carry just one color, but I want some of the fancier ones.  Found a day lily nursery about 20 miles west of us, but they won't sell until July, when they are in bloom.  This way, I know they are hardy for our area.  Xanga's Alice got me interested in them.

Would you believe I have lived here 39 yrs., and never heard of Hingham.  Had to do a Google search.  I even asked Ken--who was born here, and he never heard of it either.  But he did do some mason work near there, though.  It is funny.  We know all the little towns around Hingham, just never heard of Hingham.  Ken said we will have to take a ride down that way sometime.  We see it is on a lake---must be a pretty area.   There is a cheese factory not too far from there, at Gibbsville, that Ken would go and get cheese from when he was doing the mason work on this friend's home.

Yep!!  It is a small world.  I found a gal on Xanga who grew up just a couple miles from my home in Tucson.  But she was probably just born when we moved away from there.

Wouldn't it be neat if the baby was born ON Mother's Day??  What a wonderful present that would be!!

  • RYC: on my site.  I'm embarrassed and very angry at myself.  That was a start of an entry I was working on and it was supposed to be PRIVATE!!!  I'm glad it was you who saw it.  Although I don't know how many may have seen that.  She had told a wonderful story and I wanted to link to her site but NOT without her permission. And...I haven't written the story yet!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still waiting and praying!!!!!!!  Taker care and God bless you all((HUGS))

  • I bet the baby is late since this is the first one but you know, the longer she keeps him inside, the healthier he will be.

I usually plant my annuals on Mother's Day too.

  • I thought I'd come here & find pictures of Kaden *g*  Oh well, the flowers were a nice substitute, especially the CatMint *L*

  • Waiting here in Ohio! Just give us the word.............
