  • The garage sales on Friday were fantastic!  Kaden was with grandma Katie, so Michelle and I were able to dash to and from without hauling a two-year-old in and out of the car.  We are going with the ultra-sound opinion that baby #2 is a boy, and, therefore, not looking to buy too much in the way of newborn outfits since most of Kaden's will work.  We did find an "I'm the baby brother" shirt which was too cute to pass up.  And we found a Little Tykes basketball hoop that was definately on our list.  Fun times.

Sunday was the 50th anniversary party for my mil's church.  Dave was just a toddler so it's the only church he remembers growing up.  Most of the former pastors came.  Two are deceased.  It was a hopeful, festive dinner and day.

Today it's raining and yucky.  I did manage to put some of the wood chips that Sam and Dave made from our wood pile and leave pile on the front path.  I'll use the rest as mulch around the various garden beds.

Today was Ken's last college final.  Now he just needs to finish up the last paper (25 pages), due tomorrow, and hopefully he'll end up with a diploma.  Finally.  I guess the third time will be the charm on this particular course.  Dave e-mailed the prof to let him know (finally) about Ken's IEP and writing issues.  We understand that he really wanted to do college without playing that card, but if it makes the difference between passing and failing, then we say, use it!

Kaden is continuing to entertain us in new and diverse ways.

He was checking out the fan blades.  Check out the garage sale Clifford slippers!

Hey Barney, look at my slippers!  Barney didn't seem to care.

I thought I uploaded some videos, but I'm not finding them.  If I do, I'll post them later.

  • I think it is more fun to find things at fantastic sale prices than to buy expensive things.  There are not many things I have paid full price for.  Kaden will love the basketball hoop.  Something for him and Granpa to enjoy doing together.

RYC: LOL!!!  I am not "hero" material at all.  People like you, who are involved in so many things, are my heroes.  You are what I want to be  when I "grow up"!  lol

  • We have to find Kaden an "I'm the BIG brother" tshirt too!  My son had one when my daughter was born.  I'll keep an eye out!

  • @nevragn - We asked at the house that we found the "I'm the little brother" shirt if they had the big brother one to match.  She thought it was probably "somewhere" in the basement so we didn't pursue it.  She had three boys.

  • I picked up some things for Sydney at the local used clothing store and paid about 50C for a short set and a skort so thought I did well. I'll try the one in Clinton soon. I may have to wait until they get here to know what sizes to get Jeremiah.

  • Love those slippers!

  • If it evers stops raining here I'm going to start garage sale hunting.  I need baby stuff for my baby's visits home.   Great slippers.

  • Don't know why anyone shops at 'real stores' for baby/kid stuff since there is SO many great bargains to be found at yard sales. Glad your day was productive! One of these days I am going to go out to my old neighborhood (usually a WEALTH of sales). *hugs*
